ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The Ministry of Culture granted a permit to Mr Musa Özcan, Director of the Yozgat Museum, for clearance of monuments and a survey permit to the Project Director. We were very fortunate to have as representative Mr Dursun Çaglar, of the Eskisehir Museum, who supervised the clearance of monuments on behalf of Mr Özcan in addition to his normal duties. We are most grateful to Mr Çaglar for his full and enthusiastic participation in the work on site, and for his enormous help in the process of documenting the legal status of the Expedition House in Sahmuratli Köy. We would also like to express our profound thanks to Mr Özcan for his collaboration, participation and sound advice. 

At a local level we were greatly aided, both in the research and in the organisation of a huge party in celebration of the August 11 total solar eclipse, by the Acting Governor of Yozgat, Mahmut Kiliçdogan; the District Governor of Sorgun, Mustafa Dündar; the Yozgat Director of Culture, Selime Dogan, and the Director of the Cultural Centre, Mustafa Erdogan; the Mayors of Yozgat, Sorgun and Dedefakili, Mehmet Erdemir, Yilmaz Kiliçarslan and Mustafa Özyalçin; The Director of Yozgat Directorate of Rural Services, Vahap Özkul. Heavy machinery for moving stone was most kindly loaned by the Belediye of Sorgun and Dedefakili.
