The villagers of Sahmuratli greeted a large party of officials and members of the Supreme Court who accompanied the Governor of Yozgat on a visit to Kerkenes in April 2004. Gözleme, ayran and tea were being prepared for the visitors at the foot of the ancient city on the Kerkenes Dag.
